Senior Principal Project Controls Manager

About the role

Roche's Pharma Technical Operations Technology (PTT) is looking for a Senior Principal Project Controls Manager within its capital delivery group. You will lead project controls on large and complex facility and equipment improvement projects in the US manufacturing network, including the new greenfield drug product campus worth more than $1 billion, from basic design through qualification. After implementation, you will support projects in Holly Springs and other US locations. The role is 100% full time, based in Holly Springs, NC, with at least 30% travel, and relocation benefits are not available.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the project controls team, providing clear guidance on cost estimating, scheduling, risk, resource, cost and change management
• Give internal leadership project guidance, performance data, benchmarks and predictive information, and prepare executive-level reports and presentations
• Lead the management of external partners so they provide optimal value in cost estimation, risk and schedule management and overall delivery
• Drive process and technology/system improvements, applying Lean, BIM and other modern methodologies
• Plan ahead and influence others to achieve results in the organization's best interest

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Management, or a master's or quantity surveying degree
• 15+ years of experience in construction, project controls consultancy, or as an owner's project controls lead in biotech/pharma
• Demonstrable large-scale project controls management experience
• Staff management and consultant management experience required
• Local candidates in Holly Springs, NC preferred; relocation benefits are not available

Required skills

• Project controls techniques covering cost, schedule, scope and risk management
• Lean construction, including Target Value Delivery (TVD) and the Last Planner System (LPS)
• P6 and enterprise-wide project management systems; knowledge of SAP financial/accounting systems is preferred
• Tableau or Power BI; advanced Google Suite skills
• PMP certification or MRICS status is a plus

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $136,200 to $253,000 depending on experience, qualifications and location
• A possible discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance
