Senior Practice Manager – Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine is seeking a full‑time Senior Practice Manager to lead the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. This role oversees clinic operations, staff performance, and compliance while supporting high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily activities of office and clinic personnel.
• Approve time‑and‑attendance records and oversee hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
• Maintain and update job descriptions, set goals, and evaluate staff performance.
• Facilitate training programs and lead customer‑service and leadership development.
• Participate in university meetings on UCare, Epic implementation, HIPAA compliance, and third‑party payer contracts.
• Develop and maintain an inventory control system for practice supplies.
• Resolve employee, patient, and physician issues promptly.
• Ensure adherence to university policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum five years of experience in practice or operations management within a healthcare setting.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams of around 15 staff members.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles and ability to align departmental goals with strategic plans.

Required skills

• Experience with Epic EHR system implementation and usage.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements.
