Senior Power System Engineer

About the role

ETAP is looking for a Senior Power System Engineer to join its Transmission & Distribution team in Irvine, CA. You will apply deep power‑system expertise to support software development, customer projects, and the validation of next‑generation solutions across transmission, distribution, industrial, renewable, and transportation sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and create test cases aligned with ETAP QA and development standards.
• Support software research, design, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and feature enhancements.
• Develop engineering tools, automation scripts, visualization dashboards, and data‑driven workflows.
• Perform power‑system modeling and analysis for transmission, distribution, industrial, renewable, and railway applications.
• Provide technical support to customers via email and phone, and lead workshops and webinars.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to product advancement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in power‑system studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, or transient stability analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, testing, and application development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a track record of independent issue resolution.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
