Key responsibilities
- Lead and execute umbrella and excess casualty placements for education clients, including complex, layered programs with tight timelines.
- Develop placement strategy and carrier engagement plans tailored to education risks (higher education, K-12, affiliated entities).
- Build relationships with carrier partners and underwriters to drive pricing, terms and capacity outcomes.
- Coordinate submission development and underwriting data flow, anticipate underwriter questions and support a strong risk narrative.
- Negotiate coverage terms and structure (limits, attachments, retentions, follow-form vs. standalone).
- Deliver technical expertise in RFP delivery and presentation, and complete policy management and delivery of reviewed policies.
- Contribute to the education placement platform: market intelligence, playbooks, benchmarking and lessons learned.
- Help develop and scale the education-specific placement offering, documenting a repeatable approach.

- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in casualty placement, underwriting, broking or excess/umbrella casualty.
- P&C license required, or ability to obtain one.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with large, structured education programs and/or multi-layer placements, and established market relationships in umbrella/excess casualty.
- Ability to manage priorities independently and deliver accurate work under time pressure.
Required skills
- Strong understanding of excess casualty program structure and placement workflow.
- Independent operator able to own workstreams end-to-end with minimal supervision.
What we offer
- Base salary range of $154,200 to $328,400, with possible performance-based incentives.
- Health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K and other retirement programs, and employee assistance programs.
- Long-term growth opportunities within a growing business unit.
