Senior Pharmacy Patient Advocate

About the role

This senior‑level position supports patients receiving specialty therapies across the United States. You will act as the primary case owner, guiding patients from enrollment through ongoing treatment adherence while coordinating with insurers, pharmacies, and clinical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for patients throughout the full lifecycle of specialty therapy.
• Process enrollment applications and documentation for specialty pharmacy and patient assistance programs.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and supplemental plans.
• Manage prior authorizations, appeals, and coordination with providers and payers.
• Coordinate prescription verification, shipment scheduling, and medication fulfillment.
• Maintain continuous communication with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and insurers.
• Track and resolve issues related to prescriptions, insurance changes, refills, and therapy continuity.
• Document all interactions in case‑management systems in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.
• Prioritize caseloads to meet program timelines and escalate systemic issues when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in specialty pharmacy, patient support services, or a healthcare hub environment.
• Strong background in benefits verification for commercial and government insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Proven experience submitting, following up, and appealing prior authorizations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume, complex caseloads while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
