Senior Payroll Specialist

About the role

Allucent helps small-to-medium biopharmaceutical companies navigate clinical trials. Its global Payroll and Finance team is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist based in Cary, NC, who will manage accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll for employees across the U.S. and Canada. The role works closely with Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and external providers, and requires two to three days in the office per week.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll for employees across the U.S. and Canada
• Oversee payroll activities such as deductions, bonuses, garnishments, tax changes, reconciliations and employee inquiries
• Partner with Global Payroll, Finance, Accounting, HR and external providers on payroll reporting, audits, benefits plans and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Take ownership of critical payroll processes while supporting broader business initiatives

Required profile

• 3 to 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience supporting U.S. and Canadian payroll
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, able to handle complex processes, reconciliations and deadlines
• High level of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive employee and payroll data
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, collaborating across Payroll, Finance, HR and other teams

Required skills

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar payroll/HRIS platform
