About the role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a Senior Ontologist to lead the semantic foundation for Biologics Discovery, ensuring data across antibody, protein engineering, assay, and automation domains is connected, governed, and AI‑ready.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, test, publish, and govern ontology modules, controlled vocabularies, and mappings for biologics discovery.
- Partner with scientists, data engineers, and IT to embed semantic layers into data pipelines, knowledge graphs, and AI/ML workflows.
- Maintain semantic standards, ensure alignment with enterprise governance, and collaborate with peer ontologists in downstream CMC teams.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in ontology development and semantic modeling for scientific domains.
- Ability to translate complex biological concepts into computable models and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
Required skills
- OWL/RDF ontology modeling
- SKOS vocabularies
- SHACL constraints
- SPARQL query development
