Senior Mobile Engineer – React Native

About the role

Abbott’s Lingo team is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer with deep React Native expertise to create and enhance consumer‑facing iOS and Android applications. You will work on real‑time biosensor data, AI‑driven health insights, and personalized wellness experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cross‑platform mobile apps using React Native.
• Own features end‑to‑end, from architecture through testing and maintenance.
• Optimize performance, rendering, memory usage, and JavaScript execution.
• Integrate native iOS/Android modules and Bluetooth‑connected devices.
• Build scalable mobile architectures with strong testing practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to deliver user‑focused solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and help raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years developing with React Native.
• Proven ability to own complex features and deliver high‑quality code.
• Experience in healthcare, digital health, IoT, or regulated industries is a plus.

Required skills

• React Native (architecture, state management, navigation, performance optimization, JSI, Fabric, TurboModules)
• JavaScript/TypeScript
• iOS and Android fundamentals, native module integration
• Redux or Zustand, offline‑first design patterns
• Swift or Kotlin (optional but beneficial)
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and wearable device integration
• Core ML or TensorFlow Lite for on‑device AI
• Mobile CI/CD pipelines and App Store/Play Store release processes
• Mobile testing frameworks and performance profiling tools
