Senior Medical Biller – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office is seeking a full‑time Senior Medical Biller to join its team in Miami, FL. In this role you will ensure accurate processing of medical claims, maintain data quality, and support the billing staff in delivering timely, compliant revenue cycle services.

Key responsibilities

• Train new billing staff and provide ongoing mentorship.
• Run weekly reports on account activity and monitor outstanding balances.
• Verify claims, collect and release edits promptly, and report monthly edit summaries.
• Ensure all billing controls are followed to prevent missed charges.
• Oversee payment reconciliation processes across clinics.
• Review patient encounters for complete demographic, insurance, and referral information.
• Coordinate correction of inaccurate vouchers and reconcile daily voucher reports.
• Review, release, and correct physician charges, manage insurance eligibility, and distribute patient credits.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent (additional education considered).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant medical billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and billing principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
