Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to develop and mature manufacturing processes for aerospace hardware. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will work onsite in Torrance, CA on a 9/80 schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Perform drawing reviews and apply DFMA principles for new product introductions.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and specialized cutting tools for all operations.
• Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing processes during prove‑out to achieve target quality and yield.
• Support continuous improvement in the machine shop and recommend updates to legacy manufacturing plans.
• Research, specify, and purchase capital equipment to increase capacity or introduce new technologies.
• Provide technical ownership and support for gear production equipment such as hobbing and shaping machines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum six years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with aerospace cylindrical steel components.
• Experience with NX and Teamcenter, and with creating processes for gears and splines.
• Strong knowledge of gear/spline manufacturing and inspection methods, including CMM (Zeiss) reporting.
