Senior Manager, SQL Development (Data Platform Lead)

About the role

Siepe is looking for a Senior Manager, SQL Development to own its end‑to‑end data platform. You will act as the lead data engineer, responsible for turning custodian and administrator feeds into reliable data that hedge‑fund clients depend on daily. The role combines hands‑on development, production support and strategic roadmap planning.

Key responsibilities

• Onboard new custodian, administrator and vendor feeds end‑to‑end, including landing, canonical mapping and SLA delivery.
• Develop and maintain production pipelines using T‑SQL, SSIS and modern orchestration tools, ensuring correctness, performance and uptime.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of pipeline failures and implement permanent fixes.
• Design and tune set‑based T‑SQL objects (stored procedures, views, indexes) and collaborate with DBAs.
• Build and communicate a sequenced modernization roadmap, making build/buy/migrate decisions for orchestration, transformation and observability.

Required profile

• 8+ years building and operating production data pipelines, with experience leading or managing engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in T‑SQL and SQL Server, including indexing, execution plans and deadlock analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with SSIS, including control flow, data flow and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of data‑warehouse fundamentals, staging, conformed layers and slowly changing dimensions.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric) and modern transformation frameworks (dbt).
