Senior Manager, Patient Access

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a Senior Manager, Patient Access to lead operational and financial aspects of the front‑end revenue cycle across multiple hospital and provider‑based clinics in Miami.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, supervise, train, and discipline staff while preparing performance reports.
• Plan, organize, and control daily patient access operations to ensure timely registration, financial counseling, care coordination, and payment collection.
• Implement business initiatives and meet key performance indicators such as patient satisfaction, co‑pay collection, registration processing time, and denial rates.
• Develop and present patient access reports, identify barriers, and recommend process improvements.
• Create, review, and update departmental policies, procedures, and annual budget; identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with university policies, regulations, and internal controls, ensuring staff training on these standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare access or revenue cycle management.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles.
• Proven ability to direct, manage, and evaluate department operations and to set goals aligned with strategic plans.
• Experience leading, motivating, developing, and training teams.
