About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Ophthalmic Clinical Services in Doral, Florida. This full‑time position oversees planning, implementation, and day‑to‑day operations of eye‑care services, ensuring high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage work activities in the assigned unit to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Serve as the primary interface between technicians, physicians, fellows, and patients.
• Communicate policy and procedure changes to staff.
• Interview, select, hire, and develop new staff members.
• Monitor and evaluate employee performance improvement plans.
• Review, revise, and implement standard operating procedures.
• Advocate for patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Ensure technicians are certified and provide an educational program for ophthalmic technicians.
• Assess internal controls and compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• COA certification required.
