Senior Manager, Materials Planning & Logistics – Development Programs

About the role

Shield AI is seeking a senior leader to own materials planning, logistics and production readiness for next‑generation autonomous aircraft development programs and a new greenfield manufacturing facility. The role will build the people, processes and systems needed to move from rapid prototyping to scalable production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate build plans aligned with program milestones, partnering with engineering, program management and procurement.
• Define and monitor KPIs for schedule attainment, material availability, inventory health and planning accuracy.
• Identify long‑lead material risks, create mitigation strategies and oversee material recovery plans.
• Lead logistics readiness for a new manufacturing facility, designing warehouse, stockroom and material flow processes.
• Establish inventory control procedures, storage standards and transaction discipline.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in materials planning, inventory management or supply‑chain operations.
• Experience supporting complex hardware development programs in aerospace, defense or advanced manufacturing.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and supply‑chain planning methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle, SAP or Costpoint ERP platforms.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology experience.
