Senior Manager, Global Oncology Communications – Bladder Cancer & GU Public Affairs

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Manager to lead global oncology communications focused on bladder cancer and the broader genitourinary (GU) portfolio. This hybrid position is based in Raritan, NJ or Spring House, PA and works within a highly matrixed, global‑to‑local model.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated global communications and public affairs strategies for the bladder cancer portfolio, ensuring alignment with the broader GU strategy.
• Partner with Global Therapeutic Area Communications, R&D, Commercial Strategy, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, and regional teams to create clear narratives, aligned messaging, and coordinated execution across channels.
• Translate complex scientific data into compelling messaging for earned, owned, and paid media, and adapt content for local market impact.
• Support proactive communications that position Johnson & Johnson as a global health innovator, including disease awareness, innovation storytelling, and product communications.
• Provide day‑to‑day communications counsel, align strategies with policy and access considerations, and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, or related fields, preferably with oncology or GU experience.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global environment and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and project‑management skills.

Required skills

• Experience supporting global or regional communications strategies, including media, digital, stakeholder engagement, congress, and integrated campaigns.
• Ability to translate scientific content into accessible messaging.
• Analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
