Senior Legal Counsel – US Fintech

About the role

We are seeking a US‑qualified Senior Legal Counsel to lead the legal strategy for YouLend’s rapidly scaling US fintech business from our Atlanta office. The role offers ownership of a broad range of legal matters, senior stakeholder exposure and the support of a global Legal team.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal business partner for YouLend’s US operations.
• Lead negotiations and draft complex commercial and partnership agreements with e‑commerce platforms, payment service providers and other strategic partners.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice to product, technology, commercial, finance and operations teams.
• Advise on scalable US product, payments and SME financing structures and new product launches.
• Support strategic US matters including capital markets, restructurings, non‑performing assets, group structuring and corporate governance.
• Handle US regulatory issues, including state‑level considerations and bank partnership structures.
• Manage external US counsel and supervise members of the Legal team.
• Develop scalable legal processes, templates and playbooks for the growing US business.

Required profile

• US‑qualified lawyer (NY, CA or ATL preferred) with at least 6 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate, M&A, financing, fintech or regulatory work, preferably at a top law firm.
• Strong commercial instinct and genuine interest in fintech, embedded finance and SME financing.
• Proven experience with complex transactions, commercial negotiations and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment, balancing legal rigour with commercial pragmatism.
• Clear, direct communicator with strong drafting, negotiation and legal judgment.
• Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and translating complex legal issues into practical guidance.
