Senior Lab Technician

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Lab Technician to join its innovative team in Maplewood, MN. You will work closely with researchers and engineers to develop and optimize material processes, contributing to cutting‑edge products across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, operate, and maintain equipment for web mechanics, coating, printing, drying, curing, analysis, and characterization.
• Design and execute experiments that evaluate how material formulations and process parameters affect final product properties.
• Collaborate independently and with multidisciplinary teams to interpret results and drive improvements.
• Provide recommendations for material formulation changes and process modifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED (minimum) and two years of technician experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Associate degree or technical degree preferred.
• Four or more years of laboratory experience, especially with adhesives, tapes, laminates, or coated materials.
• Familiarity with adhesive and tape test methods such as peel, tack, shear, tensile, and environmental aging.
