Senior Internal Auditor I

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor I will perform advanced, specialized auditing work across multiple disciplines for the Texas A&M University System Offices. Working with minimal supervision, the auditor will contribute to all phases of audits, from planning through reporting, and support the development of audit staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform professional auditing work in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Develop audit programs, research criteria, and collect and analyze risk information.
• Assist the audit manager by reviewing working papers and managing assignments to meet budgeted hours and deadlines.
• Occasionally manage audits on an as‑needed basis.
• Prepare comprehensive written audit findings, recommendations, and draft audit reports.
• Facilitate team meetings, entrance conferences, client status updates, and end‑of‑fieldwork meetings.
• Share information, present ideas, and support colleagues throughout the audit process.

Required profile

• Ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Experience performing advanced, specialized auditing tasks.
• Capability to assist audit managers and occasionally lead audit engagements.
• Strong communication skills for regular interaction with team members and management.
