Senior Interior Designer (Temp-to-Perm) - Multifamily & Hospitality

About the role

A small, collaborative interior design studio is looking for a Senior Interior Designer with a strong conceptual eye and the ability to take projects from the first client conversation through completion. The work is primarily multifamily, with opportunities to help grow the studio's hospitality portfolio, covering ground-up developments and renovations across the country. The studio is based in Bethesda, MD, and the schedule is hybrid, about 2-3 days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design from concept to completion, including design documentation, coordination and final delivery
• Translate client goals into distinctive interiors, including materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting and design direction
• Drive projects independently, meeting deadlines and maintaining design quality
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors and vendors
• Produce drawings and documentation in Revit or AutoCAD
• Support construction and installation by resolving technical details
• Contribute to a small team, with growing leadership and mentorship opportunities

Required profile

• 5-10 years of professional interior design experience, ideally in a design-focused architecture or interior design firm
• Multifamily, hospitality or large-scale commercial experience; multifamily is particularly valued
• Ability to lead projects from concept through completion
• Experience working with clients, architects, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders
• Strong organization, project management and communication skills
• NCIDQ certification is not required

Required skills

• Revit or AutoCAD
• Knowledge of interior materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting and detailing

What we offer

• 3-month contract at $35-55 per hour, transitioning to a permanent position with an annual salary of $85,000-$110,000 depending on experience
