Senior Information System Security Engineer (Remote)

About the role

MANTECH, a partner to the Department of Defense since 1968, is seeking a Senior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) for a fully remote position based in Virginia Beach, VA. The ISSE works on mission-critical national security projects and develops accreditation packages for cloud systems in AWS and Azure environments. The projected compensation range is $94,800 to $157,200.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cyber security research under NAVSEA for cloud and network solutions.
• Develop, define and help implement cyber security policies and processes.
• Define IS and network environment security requirements in line with applicable cybersecurity requirements.
• Support accreditation packages (A&A) for multiple projects.
• Apply security expertise to modernize solutions so they provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication and non-repudiation.
• Develop Plans of Action and Milestones with mitigations or remediations.
• Mitigate IS and cloud network vulnerabilities and recommend changes to network components.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field, with 8+ years of relevant information systems experience.
• 5+ years developing secure solutions for incident response, business continuity and disaster recovery.
• 3+ years implementing security controls and policies with emerging cybersecurity technologies.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Preferred: Master's degree, Navy cloud experience, and one of the listed certifications (CISSP, CASP, CSSLP, ISSEP, ISSAP or equivalent).

Required skills

• Familiarity with STIG Viewer, eMASSter and Tenable Nessus and/or Security Center.
• Knowledge of FISMA, RMF, Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework, DoDAF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800 series, FedRAMP and cloud security controls.
• Security tools: access control, privileged access management, data loss prevention, vulnerability management, configuration management and audits.
