Senior Health & Benefits Consultant

About the role

Marsh is seeking a Senior Health & Benefits Consultant for its Health and Benefits team within People and Investments. The role is based in one of the Northeast offices (Boston, New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut or Philadelphia) and is hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex client engagements, managing scope, quality, timeliness and budget across medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life and disability benefit plans.
• Guide teams in researching, analyzing and evaluating benefit programs to develop design and renewal strategies.
• Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor, giving strategic recommendations.
• Provide high-level financial, contractual and administrative analysis, including reviewing RFPs and preparing executive summary reports.
• Delegate, mentor and review the work of junior staff.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and facilitate referrals.
• Negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure optimal plan coverage.
• Be accountable for project success in scope, budget, timeliness and client satisfaction.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree.
• 4+ years of experience identifying, designing, recommending and implementing business solutions for complex health care benefit plans.
• Recognized expertise and a strong reputation in the health and benefits field.
• Proven management experience leading large, complex projects.
• Ability to build trusted client relationships through advisory and problem-solving.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
