Senior FPGA Electrical Engineer

About the role

Amentum, a partner to U.S. government agencies, allied governments and corporations, is seeking a skilled Computer Systems / Electrical Engineer with FPGA expertise. The engineer provides FPGA assurance support to systems of record for the U.S. Navy and Department of War, works as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment, interfaces with program offices and helps them track project status and manage technical efforts. The position is on-site in a state-of-the-art lab with physical test equipment, closed networks and secure hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Perform FPGA design, simulation and synthesis.
• Perform verification and validation of performer capabilities.
• Develop Government off the Shelf (GOTS) FPGA assurance capabilities.
• Deliver synthesized bitstreams and manage Verilog source code repositories.
• Develop testbench simulation reports, V&V reports/matrices, and FPGA assurance capability source code and releases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Five years of hands-on FPGA design, simulation and synthesis experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Preferred: eight years of FPGA experience and an Active Secret Clearance.
• Preferred: experience in reverse engineering, common bus protocols, binary analysis and JTAG.

Required skills

• FPGA design, simulation and synthesis.
• VHDL and Verilog.
• Vivado Design Suite or Intel Quartus preferred.
• Python, Rust or C++ for test automation and scripting preferred.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
