Senior Floating Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Senior Floating Maintenance Technician ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality across the East Bay region.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing defects according to policies and code requirements.
• Execute the make‑ready process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Assist with grounds upkeep, pressure‑washing, trash removal and minor painting of curbs and signage.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of current maintenance experience in a residential or commercial setting.
• Adaptable, dependable and able to work independently on a floating schedule without on‑call duties.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb unaided (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.

Required skills

• Hands‑on mechanical and technical repair skills.
• Experience with make‑ready procedures and preventative maintenance.
• Inventory tracking and basic documentation skills.
