Senior Field Support Technician (TS/SCI)

About the role

MANTECH, a defense contractor since 1968 working with the Department of Defense on cybersecurity, IT, data analytics and more, is hiring a Senior Field Support Technician in Arlington, VA. The role involves advanced onsite and remote technical support, complex troubleshooting and mentoring junior technicians. Travel of up to 25% within the continental United States may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced onsite and remote technical support, specializing in complex troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Diagnose and resolve challenging hardware and software issues, install and configure complex equipment, and assist end users and Junior Technicians
• Lead onsite maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting while keeping client operations running
• Explain complex technical concepts clearly to clients
• Develop and maintain knowledgebase articles and training materials
• Mentor Junior Technicians and give direction to subordinate staff

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Either a high school diploma and seven years of experience as a field service technician, systems or network administrator, or a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience
• One of the following certifications obtained within three months of starting: CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, AZ 104 or MD 102
• Most positions hold a DOD 8140 IAT Level II certification such as Security+
• Ability to stay seated 50% of the time and to operate computers and office equipment; frequent communication with customers and management

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related field
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure)
• Advanced certifications (MCSE, CCNP, CISSP), ITIL Practitioner or project management certifications
• Experience at a DoD Combatant Command or component

• Projected compensation of $88,200 to $147,200, depending on experience, location and contract wage determination
