Senior Estimator - Drywall

About the role

A growing commercial specialty contractor with a strong reputation for interior finishes is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for its Richmond team. The role covers both preconstruction estimating and project execution, leading estimates for commercial interior systems projects and managing awarded projects from handoff through closeout. It suits someone who understands drywall, metal stud framing and interior systems construction and can lead multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction drawings and specifications to prepare accurate project estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed cost proposals
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare and submit competitive bids and negotiated proposals
• Participate in scope reviews and value engineering opportunities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred
• 10-15 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in drywall, metal framing or interior systems
• Projects include commercial interiors, data centers, SCIF environments and secure government facilities, mostly mid- to large-scale builds
• Location: primarily Richmond, VA, with projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of drywall assemblies, metal stud framing and interior systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with estimating software and construction management tools
