Senior Equipment Design Engineer

About the role

Antora Energy is scaling production of its thermal‑battery technology and building a new gigafactory. The Senior Equipment Design Engineer will take product concepts through to a running manufacturing process, defining build sequences, designing tooling, workcells and safety‑critical handling equipment, and integrating them on the factory floor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of next‑generation tooling, equipment and production processes from concept through structural analysis, detailed design, fabrication and proof‑load testing.
• Partner with design engineering to define build sequences and ensure manufacturability early in product development.
• Develop work instructions, PFMEAs and support the launch of the new gigafactory, translating process needs into layout and equipment requirements.
• Own station scope, provide production support, integrate test rigs, and maintain equipment commissioning and safety improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, NPI or equipment design, with a proven record of taking products from concept to production.
• Strong first‑principles structural design ability, including hand calculations and FEA verification for safety‑critical lifting equipment.
• Ability to travel domestically up to ~25% during factory launch periods.

Required skills

• 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and hand‑calculation structural design.
• Hands‑on knowledge of machining, welding and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM), lean manufacturing principles and PFMEA development.
