Senior Environmental Designer / Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Senior Environmental Designer to consult on and manage projects in our San Francisco office, working under the guidance of senior leadership. The role involves client interaction, design charrettes, and ownership of project reporting, budgeting and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Independently plan and manage projects from concept to completion across offices, labs, and masterplans.
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and responsive service.
• Lead client presentations, design charrettes and internal team meetings.
• Collaborate with technical analysis teams to integrate sustainability strategies.
• Forecast project fees, manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Author and review deliverables such as reports, technical studies and drawings.
• Create graphic illustrations to communicate technical concepts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in environmental building design, architecture, architectural engineering or building science.
• 5‑10 years of professional experience in architecture, engineering or sustainability consulting.
• Curious, proactive, self‑motivated with a willingness to learn across multiple projects.

Required skills

• LEED or WELL AP certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong visual communication and sketching ability.
• Experience with R, Grasshopper, Radiance, Revit, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3 or data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign (a plus).
