Senior Engineer – Investment Technology

About the role

Invesco is seeking a Senior Engineer to design, build, and support the technology platform behind its ETF offerings. The role works closely with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and business teams to deliver high‑performance, scalable solutions for portfolio construction, trading, analytics, and operational processes across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Institutionalize AI‑accelerated engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and AWS Bedrock for coding, testing, and documentation.
• Design, develop, and maintain data engineering workflows and platform services that support model delivery and the Vision platform.
• Build robust Python‑based services, APIs, and micro‑services for portfolio analytics, optimization, and data pipelines.
• Develop and optimise SQL‑based data processing in PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including complex queries and large‑scale ETL.
• Implement distributed, event‑driven architectures using Kafka and asynchronous workflows to enable scalable execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data engineering, application development, and distributed systems.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, global environment.
• Excellent collaboration skills to partner with cross‑functional teams worldwide.
