Senior Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Immediate need for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support the MLRS team at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing hardware‑in‑the‑loop test systems and developing new capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain existing hardware‑in‑the‑loop test systems, address issues, and provide functional support.
• Refactor systems for improved stability, maintainability, and efficiency.
• Develop new software and hardware components to meet emerging testing requirements.
• Create internal tools to boost testing productivity and ease of execution.
• Assist other functional groups with testing tools and provide domain expertise.
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers and contribute to team prioritization and goal setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with nine years experience, or twelve years experience in lieu of degree.
• Active Interim Secret or Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Proven LabVIEW (CLA) experience with object‑oriented programming and framework development.
• Understanding of source revision control, code reviews, and system design for usability and uptime.
• Strong documentation habits and systematic debugging of combined hardware/software systems.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory test instruments and electrical concepts.
• Ability to estimate effort, manage deadlines, and work autonomously.

• Source revision control and code review processes.
• Hardware‑in‑the‑loop system maintenance.
• Debugging of integrated hardware and software.
• Use of laboratory instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Fundamental electrical concepts (voltage, current, resistance, grounding).
