Senior Electronic Systems Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior Electronic Systems Engineer to lead the development of flight‑critical control electronics for next‑generation military aircraft. This hybrid position in Torrance, CA, offers the chance to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept to certification and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Moog’s technical authority and project leader for Flight Control Computers (FCCs), Actuator Control Units (ACUs) and Motor Control Electronics (MCEs).
• Guide conceptual and detailed design phases through verification, certification and field deployment.
• Capture, develop and document electronics‑level requirements while balancing technical, schedule and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition.
• Develop verification and validation plans, execute hardware and software integration testing, and investigate performance anomalies.
• Create concise technical reports and present design reviews to customers and internal teams.
• Support project planning activities, including cost estimates, schedules and technical interface meetings.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineer with proven experience in aerospace electronic systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage directly with customers.
• Strong analytical skills for systematic requirement capture and trade‑off analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical documentation and presentations.
