Senior Electrical, Motor and Motor Drive Engineer

About the role

Shield AI, a defense-tech company developing aircraft and autonomy systems, is hiring a Senior Electrical, Motor and Motor Drive Engineer in Seattle. The role covers aircraft motor drives, power electronics and controls, from circuit design through testing and qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of aircraft motor drive, power electronics and controls.
• Design high-voltage power electronics circuits, integrate them with motors and controls, and carry out hands-on circuit verification and dyno testing.
• Handle schematic capture, modeling, simulation, analysis and testing.
• Work cross-functionally with software, mechanical, embedded, CAD, production, users and other teams.
• Run qualification and reliability campaigns, debug and root-cause failures.
• Help develop automated production test solutions.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as an electrical engineer.
• Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing and debugging.
• Demonstrated record of hard work, trustworthiness, high standards and kindness.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Altium or equivalent.
• Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, E-loads and multimeters.
