Senior Electrical Engineer – Ground Support Equipment

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical systems for ground support equipment, supporting electric aviation initiatives. The role involves end‑to‑end product development from concept through certification to field deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop system architectures, sub‑assemblies, circuits, and printed circuit board designs using Altium.
• Lead the full product lifecycle, including low‑level circuit design, integration, testing, verification, and volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, budgets, and scopes.
• Create test and verification plans, troubleshoot and rework electrical equipment and PCBs, and ensure compliance with safety standards and third‑party certifications (UL, CE, etc.).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of product design or production experience.
• Proven expertise in analog and power component selection, circuit simulation, and testing.
• Strong documentation skills for schematics, bill of materials, and test plans.
• Experience bringing products to compliance through third‑party certification bodies.

Required skills

• Altium Designer for schematic capture, PCB layout, and manufacturing.
• Communication protocols: CAN, SPI, I2C, MODBUS, TCP/IP, RS‑485.
• DFMEA/FMEA analysis and hardware safety testing.
• Power conversion design for high‑voltage DC systems and knowledge of EV charging standards (J1772, ISO 15118, DIN 760121, ISO 61851).

What we offer
