Senior Electrical Engineer – Air Compressor Products

About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer will develop and implement new electrical technologies for air compressor products, providing hands‑on support for components and systems. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the role works closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical components, assemblies, and systems for air compressor products.
• Perform design calculations, engineering analysis, and create test protocols for validation and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with UL, ETL, CSA standards and support certification testing (e.g., UL1450, CSA C22.2 No. 68).
• Develop project schedules, milestones, and status updates for internal and external partners.
• Support product improvement, cost‑reduction initiatives, and failure analysis with clear reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience focused on electric motors and motor controls; experience with air compressors or power tools preferred.
• Proven experience in new product development within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong project‑management and organizational skills using Microsoft Office tools.

Required skills

• Electric motors (single‑phase, three‑phase, universal, PMDC, brushless DC).
• Motor control system design.
• Schematic and wiring diagram creation and interpretation.
• PCB layout and EMC/EMI knowledge.
• Regulatory compliance experience with UL/CSA standards.
• Hands‑on mechanical intuition and system integration expertise.
