Senior Director, Translational & Biomarker Lead – Immunology

About the role

The Senior Director, Translational and Biomarker Lead will shape and oversee translational and biomarker strategy for immunology programs, integrating discovery insights, human biology, and early clinical development. This highly visible role sits at the interface of Discovery, Biomarkers, and Early Development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high‑performing translational and biomarker research team, setting scientific direction and fostering an innovative culture.
• Drive the translational portfolio by designing in‑vitro, ex‑vivo, and animal model experiments that link mechanism of action, disease biology, PK/PD, and clinical endpoints.
• Oversee experimental design, analysis strategies, and forward‑ and reverse‑translational studies in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Provide leadership for biomarker strategy across preclinical and clinical settings, partnering with Discovery, Translational Medicine, and Data Science teams.
• Champion emerging technologies and therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, peptides, biologics, and T‑cell engagers.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Immunology, Cell Biology or related field with at least 10 years of experience, including 7 years in industry.
• Minimum five years of direct management experience overseeing multiple scientific teams.
• Deep knowledge of immune‑mediated diseases, molecular pathways, and clinical trial landscapes.
• Proven track record in developing clinically relevant biomarkers for target engagement and pharmacodynamics.
