Senior Director, Security Operations Center

About the role

HCSC is looking for a Senior Director to lead its Cyber Fusion Center (CFC, also called SOC). The role directs and manages the CFC's activities so that enterprise cyber threat detection and escalation are delivered consistently and in line with SLAs, within the broader Cyber Defense and Investigation ecosystem. It works with other Cyber Defense leaders to protect the organization and continuously improve its cyber security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational delivery of all detection controls so that threat alerts are handled according to SLA requirements.
• Manage SOC teams, including vulnerability management, incident handling and forensics.
• Oversee the annual budget and allocate resources for projects and operations.
• Translate needs and initiatives into business cases and conduct cost-benefit analyses to justify investments.
• Work with Cyber Defense leadership to defend against cyber threats and raise the organization's cyber security posture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience in IT or information security, or 16 years in those fields.
• 5 years in management and/or leadership.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field, and CISSP certification.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel frequently for investigations, crisis management or critical programs.

Required skills

• Experience managing SOC teams and using tools to assess risk, identify vulnerabilities and drive investigative decisions.
• Knowledge of hacker methodologies, system vulnerabilities, attack indicators and exploits.
• Experience with ticket tracking, forensics and investigation, and network scanning.
• Knowledge of IT standards, procedures and policies such as HIPAA, and of emerging technologies and system integration.
• Ability to develop awareness campaigns, training and executive briefings.

• Base pay range of $161,500 to $299,700, varying with skills, experience and location.
