Senior Director, Program Team Leader - Oncology

About the role

The Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) team is looking for a Program Team Leader (PTL) to lead projects and portfolio-related activities across oncology and immuno-oncology therapies. The PTL reports into the Portfolio Management and Operations function in gRED and works with cross-functional teams from Research, Development, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory and Manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional project teams focused on developing novel therapeutics, including large and small molecules and other modalities.
• Lead teams from pre-IND through Phase III go to deliver first- or best-in-class molecules for pivotal clinical trials, enabling global development and commercialization.
• Provide direction and leadership, including scientific oversight, budget and planning.
• Partner with stakeholders on project vision, strategy, product evaluation and scope, milestones, risk management and investment requirements.
• Use deep knowledge of disease biology and global drug development to guide strategic decisions for the Early Stage Portfolio Committee.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in life sciences or medicine (MD, PhD or MS).
• 10+ years of industry experience in drug development, including early-phase non-clinical and clinical development and regulatory knowledge.
• Experience leading teams in a matrix environment.
• Preferred: relevant experience in immunology and/or oncology.

• Ability to build strong cross-functional collaboration.

What we offer

• Expected salary range of $247,000 to $458,800, depending on experience, qualifications and location; actual pay set by the company.
• A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
• Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
