Senior Director of Accounting & Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Director of Accounting & Finance to lead the finance function for a leading apparel and fashion manufacturer in Manhattan, NY. This senior leader will be responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, strategic budgeting, and risk management across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate monthly close and daily transactional reporting.
• Monitor revenue performance and prepare periodic financial statements and management reports for senior leadership.
• Lead coordination of external financial, banking, and regulatory audits, delivering timely and accurate results.
• Direct budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management, including oversight of receipts and disbursements.
• Strengthen risk management by developing and enforcing financial policies and internal controls.
• Supervise tax compliance, including preparation and filing of required returns.
• Evaluate and enhance financial systems and procedures to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Understand the organization’s funding structure and capital dynamics to support strategic decisions.
• Oversee inventory‑related financial exposure and implement cost‑containment initiatives.
• Partner with commercial and operational leaders to analyze pricing adjustments, customer deductions, and other factors impacting net revenue.

Required profile

• 15+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
• Background in consumer products, manufacturing, or fashion/apparel industry; licensing and importing experience is a plus.
• Hands‑on operational accounting experience with strong leadership abilities.
• CPA designation preferred.
