Senior Designer – Plant Layout & 3D Modeling

About the role

FLSmidth is seeking a Senior Designer to join its Downstream Gold product line. You will create functional 3D plant layouts for gold and silver recovery projects, translating process data into practical, constructible designs that meet client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D model layouts for ADR and refinery projects based on P&IDs, equipment lists and process requirements.
• Design plant arrangements, piping corridors, access platforms, maintenance zones and material flow paths.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and multidisciplinary engineers to establish and refine layout concepts.
• Coordinate with other designers, vendors and clients to integrate equipment dimensions, clearances and installation needs.
• Identify and resolve layout conflicts, constructability issues and access limitations early in the project.
• Mentor junior designers and help standardise layout practices across Downstream Gold projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in plant layout and 3D modeling for mining or processing facilities.
• Strong understanding of P&IDs, equipment placement and material handling principles.
• Ability to work closely with engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
