Senior Design Engineer (CAD & Methodology)

About the role

We are seeking a highly specialized Senior Design Engineer with deep expertise in EDA tool capabilities and design methodologies to join our ASIC development team. You will architect our design environment, optimize flows, and push the limits of our software infrastructure for cryptocurrency mining ASICs.

Key responsibilities

• Own, develop, and maintain advanced digital and analog implementation flows, ensuring seamless integration of EDA tools across the design lifecycle.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on Cadence ADE and digital implementation suites, optimizing tool configurations to maximize productivity and silicon performance.
• Drive and refine digital implementation flows using Cadence Innovus or OpenROAD, focusing on floorplanning, placement, routing, and timing closure.
• Create, extend, and maintain automation scripts and internal tools using TCL, Python, BASH, and C to streamline design environments.
• Partner with analog and digital circuit designers to troubleshoot tool-related anomalies, license constraints, and flow failures.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with proven hands‑on IC design experience.
• Deep understanding of Cadence ADE architecture and extensive experience with digital physical design tools such as Cadence Innovus or OpenROAD.
• Fluency in scripting and programming languages essential to EDA automation (TCL, Python, BASH, C/C++).
• Solid knowledge of the Bitcoin mining ecosystem, cryptographic hashing constraints, and ASIC‑boost optimization techniques.
• Methodology‑driven mindset with strong problem‑solving skills for complex software‑hardware interactions.
