Senior Design Architect – Life Sciences (Multiple US Locations)

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Design Architect with deep experience in life‑sciences facilities to lead design and construction documentation for pharmaceutical manufacturing projects across several U.S. locations. The role blends creative design, code compliance, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed architectural designs from concept through construction documents.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards for life‑sciences projects.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and specialty consultants, both on‑site and virtually.
• Perform construction administration tasks such as responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting field observations, and preparing punch‑list items.
• Supervise and mentor junior design professionals and consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited architecture program.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, primarily on life‑sciences/pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction detailing, constructability, and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
• U.S. citizenship.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit for BIM‑based construction documentation.
• Experience with Navisworks and Revizto for model coordination.
• Competence in MS Office, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam Revu.
