Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server & SharePoint)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a full-time, on-site Senior Database Administrator to support a Department of War (DoW) customer in Spokane, Washington. The role covers enterprise database administration and SharePoint infrastructure in a secure DoW environment, with the possibility of initiating or upgrading a US government security clearance. The schedule is 40 hours per week, with occasional after-hours or weekend work and up to 10% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2019-2025 across development, test and production, and ensure high availability with Always On Availability Groups and failover clustering.
• Monitor database health and performance, tune queries and indexes, and manage backups, recovery, patching and upgrades.
• Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing and STIG compliance.
• Write PowerShell and T-SQL automation scripts and build custom reports.
• Administer SharePoint Server 2019 on-premises, including farms, site collections, permissions, AD integration, customizations and backups.
• Apply DoD STIGs, RMF security controls and vulnerability remediation, and take part in incident response and change management.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and SOPs, and mentor colleagues.

Required profile

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (US citizenship required); 7+ years administering SQL Server and SharePoint 2016/2019, or a bachelor's degree in a related field with 4 years of experience.
• Advanced proficiency in the 421-Database Administrator work role per the DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program.
• Experience with database migrations, disaster recovery, ERDs and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently or in a multidisciplinary team under demanding schedules.

Required skills

• Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint Server 2016/2019, SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Quest and Bamboo.
• PowerShell, T-SQL, STIGs and RMF security controls.
• Relational database design, indexing, query optimization and data modeling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and technical documentation.
