Senior Data Scientist, Biologics Discovery

About the role

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join the Biologics Discovery organization. The role focuses on building data‑facing machine‑learning capabilities that enable faster, more reliable molecular design and property‑prediction models.

Key responsibilities

• Design robust featurization approaches and curate standardized, traceable, model‑ready datasets from biologics assay, biophysical, sequence, and construct data.
• Collaborate with discovery scientists to translate scientific questions into clear data and analytical requirements, identifying data quality issues and risks.
• Partner with In Silico Discovery (ISD) to hand off standardized training datasets and align on where data science enables versus where ISD owns modeling.
• Work with data engineers, ontology, and MLOps teams to ensure consistent semantics, reproducibility, and reliable model deployment.

Required profile

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or related field.
• At least 2 years of applied ML experience on complex scientific or biomedical data.
• Strong ability to collaborate with experimental scientists and modeling partners in a matrixed R&D environment.
