Senior Data Product Manager

About the role

Amherst is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager to lead the vision and execution of its data product roadmap, leveraging platforms such as Databricks, Salesforce, and proprietary solutions. The role reports to the VP of Product Management and works closely with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own the vision, roadmap and lifecycle of data products, balancing strategic initiatives with day‑to‑day business demand.
• Champion “data as a product” thinking, ensuring data assets receive the same rigor and quality standards as customer‑facing products.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify data needs that impact company KPIs and translate them into epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain strong relationships with technical teams to keep the roadmap realistic and well‑sequenced.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and modern data tooling, piloting new capabilities with engineering.
• Run agile ceremonies, manage the backlog for data‑focused scrum teams, and report progress to leadership.

Required profile

• Leadership and vision to identify business‑impacting opportunities using data platforms.
• Intellectually curious, collaborative and able to translate messy business problems into clear technical requirements.
• Comfortable working in an agile, fast‑moving environment while maintaining product vision.
• Self‑starting, open to feedback and focused on team success.

Required skills

• Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Salesforce and AI/machine‑learning‑powered product initiatives.
• Proficiency with agile product management tools like Jira and Confluence.
