Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Lyra Health, a provider of evidence-based mental health care, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and scale its data enterprise, which powers analytics and research platforms used for product development and clinical outcome measurement. The role suits someone who takes ownership of their work, leads cross-functional projects and mentors others, and enjoys collaborating with physicians, therapists, data scientists, data analysts and product managers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and scale the core data infrastructure, pipelines and services that power the company's products
• Design and implement a robust data warehouse supporting analytics and operational use cases
• Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines and curated datasets by gathering requirements with stakeholders and turning them into technical solutions
• Write code every day

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Proven track record of writing high-quality, production-ready Python and delivering scalable data projects
• Enjoys cross-functional collaboration and mentoring teammates

Required skills

• SQL-based data modeling and transformation frameworks such as dbt, with a focus on schema management, performance and data governance
• Ingestion tools: Airbyte, commercial ELT pipelines such as Fivetran, and CDC
• Apache Airflow for fault-tolerant pipeline orchestration, including custom alerting, logging and retry mechanisms
• Sigma or Tableau for data visualization
• Snowflake architecture, including Snowpipe and Apache Iceberg
• Snowflake administration: security compliance, RBAC, external authentication and downstream data consumption
• Data quality assurance, regression testing and performance tuning
• Preferred: relational databases, dimensional modeling, PII/PHI handling, Terraform, and strong communication skills
