Senior Data Engineer (AI‑Focused) – Remote US

About the role

Join Aimpoint Digital, a fully remote data and analytics consultancy, as a Senior Data Engineer helping clients across industries design AI‑ready data architectures and end‑to‑end analytical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted data and AI advisor, translating business questions into scalable data platforms.
• Design and implement cloud data warehouses, lakehouses, ELT pipelines, orchestration jobs, and semantic layers that support LLM‑driven analytics and agent‑based workflows.
• Build production‑ready code in SQL, Python, and Spark, applying Git, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with analytics, data‑science, and ML teams to productionize AI‑enabled analytics without developing ML models.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases, data pipelines, and data modeling (star schema, ER).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on client engagements.
• Passion for modern data‑engineering and AI trends such as LLM‑powered analytics and semantic layers.

Required skills

• Snowflake, Databricks, dbt (Core or Cloud), Fivetran.
• SQL, Python, Spark, Scala or Java.
• Cloud data warehouses (Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Microsoft Synapse).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• AI‑assisted engineering tools (Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Snowflake Cortex Code, Databricks Genie Code).
