Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

MANTECH, a provider of technology solutions to government intelligence agencies since 1968, is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer for its Chantilly, VA team. The engineer leads technical operations, delivers cyber security engineering solutions and safeguards mission-critical enterprise systems. The position is full time and on site.

Key responsibilities

• Help create fully developed project schedules using the Enterprise Scheduling Service (ESS) platform built on Microsoft Project.
• Prepare briefing decks, including detailed cost estimates, for senior leadership presentations.
• Author and organize document deliverables, perform customer engagement, document technical requirements and manage customer communications.
• Coordinate engineering, integration and administration to deliver capabilities, documentation and services to the operational and engineering baseline.
• Ensure projects are completed and delivered according to the implementation plan and schedule.
• Coordinate the build-out and testing of applications and tools in virtual and physical environments.
• Manage incident and request ticket queues through ServiceNow and assist with Tier 2-4 support, including possible after-hours and weekend coverage.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of relevant cyber security experience, including direct experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Experience managing or leading small to medium-sized teams supporting engineering operations.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Preferred: managerial experience, previous system administrator or systems engineering experience, and general knowledge of vulnerability management, intrusion detection/prevention, log monitoring and endpoint protection.

Required skills

• Understanding and application of DoD/IC policy and technical security guidance.
• Active IAT Level II certification (GSEC, Security+, SSCP or CCNA-Security) or ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office or similar project management and collaboration tools.

• Projected compensation range of $114,600 to $190,200, depending on factors such as experience, skills, location and contract wage determination.
