Senior Credit Risk Analyst – Auto Financing

Santander, a global leader in financial services, is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to oversee the credit quality of its prime auto finance portfolio in Dallas. The role combines independent risk analysis with strategic oversight to ensure regulatory compliance and protect the organization’s assets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent risk analysis and monitor credit quality of the auto finance portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and risk reduction.
• Review and evaluate the company’s credit risk management program.
• Analyze credit risk trends, escalating emerging issues per policy.
• Partner with business lines to recommend mitigation strategies and follow‑up actions.
• Support credit risk assessments by analyzing data and documenting impacts.
• Respond to internal inquiries on credit risk, procedures, and regulatory matters.
• Research emerging credit risks, market trends, and best practices.
• Evaluate contingency plans and existing controls, recommending improvements.
• Prepare review memoranda summarizing liabilities and recommended actions.
• Promote a risk‑aware culture through communication of policies and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business, Statistics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
• Significant experience in credit risk analysis, preferably within auto financing.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and document findings.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with business partners and internal stakeholders.
