Senior Counsel – Litigation

About the role

The Senior Counsel – Litigation will lead Sazerac’s litigation strategy, focusing on eDiscovery, discovery management, records retention, and legal hold programs. Working in a hybrid model (three days onsite), you will coordinate with Legal, Risk Management, IT, and business teams to ensure efficient, defensible litigation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all phases of litigation discovery, including preservation, collection, review, and production.
• Design, implement, and manage the company’s legal hold program in partnership with IT and Records Management.
• Provide guidance on privilege protection, discovery proportionality, and legal risk mitigation.
• Develop standardized litigation and discovery protocols, playbooks, and workflows.
• Oversee external counsel performance and budget compliance.
• Deliver company‑wide training on privilege protection, legal communications, and investigations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level attorney with extensive litigation experience.
• Proven expertise in eDiscovery, legal hold administration, and records retention.
• Strong ability to collaborate across Legal, Risk, IT, and business functions.
• Excellent communication skills and experience delivering training.
