Senior Construction Manager / Superintendent

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager / Superintendent to lead complex commercial and public/educational construction projects in the Los Angeles area. The role will oversee all phases from pre‑construction through close‑out, ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, and quality standards for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑construction, bid, award, construction and close‑out phases for assigned projects.
• Review and comment on pre‑construction documents and coordinate with designers.
• Prepare status reports and presentations for senior management.
• Liaise with public agencies and district staff to secure permits and ensure compliance.
• Control project budgets and schedules, monitoring monthly financial performance.
• Supervise daily contractor activities, review construction schedules, submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Evaluate substitution submittals to verify compliance with specifications and district requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of full‑time professional construction experience, including at least 5 years managing projects over $20 M.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain or maintain Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year.
• Valid California Architect registration or Professional Engineer license preferred.
