Senior Compliance Manager

About the role

King City Gardens is looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to lead regulatory compliance across its Ohio cannabis operations, including a Level I cultivation facility, processing contracts, and dispensary relationships. The role safeguards licenses, product integrity, and regulatory standing by ensuring all activities meet Ohio cannabis laws and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s compliance program for cultivation, post‑harvest, product transfer, processing contracts, and dispensary activities.
• Ensure adherence to Ohio Division of Cannabis Control requirements, statutes, administrative rules, license conditions, and SOPs.
• Identify compliance risks early, build repeatable compliance systems, and provide clear guidance to managers and staff.
• Manage daily compliance tasks such as plant tracking, harvest batch documentation, inventory reconciliation, waste documentation, and destruction.
• Serve as the internal authority for audit readiness, seed‑to‑sale tracking, SOP governance, corrective actions, incident response, regulatory interpretation, and regulator‑facing documentation.
• Leverage AI‑enabled tools (Manus, Claude, ChatGPT) to improve compliance research, SOP drafting, audit preparation, training materials, data review, and executive reporting.

Required profile

• Senior‑level, hands‑on leader with deep technical knowledge of Ohio cannabis regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation practices.
• Ability to work confidently with cultivation, inventory, logistics, processing partners, dispensary teams, senior leadership, testing labs, vendors, and regulators.
• Fluency with AI productivity and research platforms while maintaining confidentiality and human oversight.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Ohio cannabis laws, rules, and licensing requirements.
• Experience with seed‑to‑sale tracking systems and SOP governance.
• Audit readiness, corrective‑action, and incident‑response expertise.
• Proficiency with AI tools such as Manus, Claude, and ChatGPT for compliance work.
